Elon Musk made a lighthearted comment in the Oval Office on Tuesday, likening the thorough scrutiny of DOGE to undergoing a \u2018daily proctology exam.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this intense examination, he pledged to uncover and remove the top-earning bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The order, which wasn\u2019t immediately released by the White House, was intended to \u2018significantly\u2019 scale back the federal workforce, pushing agencies to hire \u2018no more than one employee for every four employees\u2019 that depart, according to Semafor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musk and his son X were in the Oval Office Tuesday afternoon when President Donald Trump signed an executive order focused on DOGE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not signing the order in front of the gathered reporters was an unusual decision on the part of President Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, he allowed Musk to engage with his son in the spotlight for more than 30 minutes. During this extended time, Trump prompted Musk to reveal some of the insights he had uncovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We do find it sort of odd that, you know, there are quite a few people in the bureaucracy who have ostensibly a salary of a few hundred thousand dollars but somehow managed to accrue tens of millions of dollars in net worth while they are in that position,\u2019 Musk said. \u2018Which is what happened in USAID. We\u2019re just curious as to where it came from.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Maybe they\u2019re very good at investing, in which case we should take their investment advice perhaps,\u2019 Musk said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump rubber-stamped what Musk was up to, telling reporters, \u2018We don\u2019t want an unsuccessful guy doing this.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
